The Importance of Self-Care Through a Cancer Diagnosis

April 15, 2021

As I have said time and time again Self-Care is very important especially when one is going through Cancer.  There are many benefits of exercising during a cancer diagnosis.  It may lead to a faster and better recovery as well as improve on your daily activities for a better quality of life.  It also helps your emotional side by helping to decrease the strong negative emotions that one endures during this difficult time.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kelly Cotter a few years ago and now she is working on helping people during their recovery process.  As a breast cancer survivor herself she learned firsthand the benefits of exercise during cancer and has made it her mission to helping others. She is now a Certified Cancer Exercise Specialist. She will work one on one with Cancer patients and come up with an exercise routine that will fit individual needs. She is trained to take into consideration:

  • Your type of cancer
  • Your surgical procedures and treatment options
  • Your acute and chronic side effects including:
  • Fatigue
  • Compromised immunity
  • Lymphedema
  • Osteoporosis
  • Peripheral neuropathy
  • Nausea
  • Exercise precautions and modifications

For additional information on how Kelly can help you or your loved one check out her website:  I hope this information was beneficial and if you have any questions please feel free to reach out.
