How to Sell to Generation Z

June 24, 2021

Generation Z is currently twenty percent of the US population, known as ages 9 to 24.  Their annual buying power is estimated to be close to $300 billion.  They are the first generation to never know a world without the internet. They don't want to buy from a brand but rather partner with their brands. They want a relationship. Because of this they want a community. They want to belong.  So traditional marketing won't work for them. According to an article in Entrepreneur, here are four smart ways brands have empowered, supported, and developed the communities Generation Z cares about.

  1. Don't ask for anything.
  2. Support their interests.
  3. Learn their language.
  4. Meet them where they are.

It is important that you get to know your buyers, research their interest, look at their trending conversations and get to know them. If your product or service is for this Generation Z then do your homework. Build that community.  If you are finding this challenging and need some help along the way, MCA Consulting Services is here to help.
