Getting Organized During This Pandemic With Dawn George

Many of us have taken the time during this self-isolation and spent it cleaning out some closets and getting organized.  Some of us are a lot better at it than others.  Dawn George has been working as a Certified Professional Organizer for over fifteen years.  She works with clients and helps them with their personal and small business organizational needs.  Dawn is also an Evernote Certified Consultant and the Vice President of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals.  You may have seen her on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and NBC10.  Dawn is very passionate about using technology and apps to help her clients improve their lives.  She strongly believes in the 5-step process of organization, the S.P.A.C.E. System.

1. Sort – grouping similar items together
2. Purge – separate the things you love, need or use from those you don’t
3. Assign – choose a room or storage area on where something will permanently live when it’s not being used
4. Containerize – to keep something from spreading and within defined limits
5. Equalize – put things back in their place when finished with them

Dawn’s clients range from homeowners, small business owners, and stay at home moms.  The pandemic has affected her business by not allowing her to go into her client’s homes and offices.  She needed to make some changes and offer virtual consulting.  What intrigued me about her was her knowledge of many technologies that one can adapt to help you with your organizing your life and business.  She shared with me a great tool called Evernote.  Evernote is a note taking app that helps you capture and prioritize ideas, projects and to-do lists.  You can download it on your phone, iPad and desktop.  I started using this tool for both personal use and for my consulting business and it is a life saver.
