Become a Disruptor

May 6, 2021

Some of the great Entrepreneurs have been disruptors. Among the greatest are Henry Ford, Steve Jobs, and Jeff Bezos. They all seem to have one thing in common, they don't think like the people that are disrupting, and they look at the world differently. They also tend to see things as they should be, rather than simply as they are. In a recent article in Entrepreneur, "Think Like a Disruptor," author Hamza Mudassir shared some common characteristics of three disruptors that he has worked with:

  1. Focus on Inputs over Outputs – don't focus on fighting off your competitors but instead focus on what convinces customers to abandon those competitors (what differentiates yourself from competition).
  1. Automation First, Hire Later – Focus on using technology to your advantage, invest in machine learning, Artificial Intelligence, and others. Build a technology platform that will support your business, then hire experts that can best utilize the technology.
  1. Change Your Narrative – implement storytelling in your marketing strategy.

As an entrepreneur, you need to change your way of thinking to become successful. It may be challenging but somewhat logical. Trying to implement some of these characteristics in your leadership team may be a game-changer for your company. We would love to have a conversation and learn more about how we can help you become a disruptor. We would love to hear from you.
